Mission:

·    To improve the environmental qualities of the lake through cooperation with city, county, state and federal agencies as well as educational institutions, foundations and other private resources.

·    To ensure the fishery and wild life habitats continue to thrive.

·    To showcase the lake as a metropolitan recreational area for everyone to enjoy.

Carter Lake Preservation Society’s Purpose: 

·    Help local leaders and agencies defend, manage and restore the lake and its watershed.

·    Address and correct the impairments of the lake.

·    Armor the shoreline to reduce erosion and maintain water quality.

·    Sponsor the annual Carter Lake Clean Up.

·    Provide a unified voice for public policy that will preserve the lake.

·    Advance public knowledge of the lake, watershed and ecosystem.
